May Migration Challenge
Hello Everyone!
This May, I’ll will be taking on a birding challenge at the Seabrook Town Forest, and I’d love to share the journey with you!
The Plan:
When:
Every morning at sunrise, from May 1st to May 31st
Where:
Primary Location: Seabrook Town Forest
Backup Location (weather permitting): My Backyard
My Goals for May 2025:
Seabrook Town Forest:
140 species on the Seabrook Town Forest Life List (Current: 133)
20+ warbler species (Previous record: 20 in May 2023)
60+ species on a single checklist (Previous record: 60 on May 13, 2024)
Find “Merlin’s Bird of the Day” every day
Photograph a Blue-winged Warbler (my favorite warbler!)
Bonus: 1 Vagrant Species
Backyard (Backup Plan):
75 species on the Backyard Life List (Current: 69)
I’ll be posting daily updates here on The Field Diary, so you can follow along with my progress throughout the month. Spring migration is such an exciting time for me, and I’m so thrilled to be able to share the experience with you here on Substack.
