Daily Recap:
It’s been a bit of a struggle lately to get up at sunrise—I think I may have burnt myself out during the first week of the challenge. But with 17 more days to go, I better start getting used to it again.
I slept through my alarms again this morning, and since I had work, I decided to head to the Town Forest afterwards. To my surprise, it was actually pretty active when I arrived—Ovenbirds, Yellow Warblers, and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak were all singing.
I had a nice look at four Northern Rough-winged Swallows hovering low over the pond, with four Chimney Swifts flitting high above them.
Aside from that, it was a solid day with 42 species. It’s always nice to take a walk there in good weather, no matter what shows up—I truly enjoy every visit.
More rain is on the way tomorrow, but there’s a window of clarity in the morning, and I plan to take advantage of it.
