Daily Recap:
Migration may be slowing down, but the Town Forest is still alive with birds in the morning.
I finished with 66 species and added one new warbler for the month: Mourning Warbler, completing my 25-warbler goal! On my walk back, I heard it singing from the thickets near an Eastern Towhee. I got extremely poor photos of it, but that’s the price you pay with a skulky warbler like this. The Lincoln’s Sparrow pictured above on the other hand, gave me some of the best views I’ve ever had of one. It posed on a branch for me, bounding back and forth as I shot.
Tomorrow I won’t be visiting the Town Forest, but I’ll be doing something I’ve never done before and will still be writing about the recap tomorrow night. See you then!
