Daily Recap:
After a long day of birding, I made it to the Town Forest just in time for sunset hoping for a glimpse of some Nighthawks. Unfortunately, I was out of luck.
I went straight to the powerline cut, where I have the best view of the sky. I sat there for the full 48 minutes and even without Nighthawks, I still ended with 29 species. That’s what I love most about this place, how consistent and reliable it is. The Town Forest never disappoints, and that’s why it remains my favorite place to bird.
Although I didn’t find what I was looking for there, I also visited Odiorne State Park earlier in the day and picked up a couple of new species for the year.
Only two days left of the challenge now. I can’t believe how fast this month has flown by.
