Daily Recap:
The quietest day at the Town Forest yet—and likely the quietest I’ll see all month.
I decided to head over after work since it was pouring when I woke up. By the time I arrived, the rain had eased to a light mist, which was at least better than a full downpour.
Much like yesterday, the forest was mostly quiet aside from a few small warbler flocks tucked into pockets along the trail. My most notable bird of the day was a Blue-winged Warbler, who stood out for one reason: it was the only bird singing its heart out despite the dreary weather.
My Bird of the Day was a simple find as there are always Red-winged Blackbirds on the pond.
Although I don’t expect it to be this quiet again, I do expect it to remain quieter than usual until the rain clears from the forecast.
